About the product: Sunflower meal
Sunflower meal is a valuable feed ingredient used above all in feed for pigs and cattle. It is produced during sunflower oil production — by pressing and subsequent extraction of sunflower seeds.
It is a source of protein, vitamins and fibre. Thanks to its relatively high fibre content it is an alternative to bran, while supplying animals with much more protein. Digestibility reaches 75–80%.

Properties
- can be fed on its own or as an ingredient of compound feed
- higher protein content than feeds made from other plant raw materials
- complete protein in terms of amino acid profile, including methionine
- well absorbed; improves the uptake of other feed components
- contains B-group vitamins, vitamin E, phosphorus and other minerals
Applications
Feed for cattle, pigs and poultry. In dairy cows sunflower meal increases daily milk yield and milk fat content; in young animals it supports growth and development. Loose or pelleted meal is the most convenient form — no further processing is needed.
